Fort Pierce, Jupiter, Stuart area wrap up for 1st half of August

Capt. Chris Britton from Grey Ghost Charters breaks down the fishing around South Florida for the first half of August. Lots of options on tap with sailfish really stealing the show!

Incredible numbers of sailfish biting as well as some really good kingfishing and cobia showing as well. Stayed prepared for the larger grade cobia mixed in as well. The snapper bite is been pretty steady as well. With some upwelling off the beach, the tarpon and cobia have been on the chew on both live baits and artificials.

Moving inside, the snook and mangrove bite has been on fire as well. A well full pilchards and small sardines fished under docks and fallen trees have been lethal. Also, there’s been a fun shark bite on the flats.

With mullet run just around the corner, fishing around South Florida is looking solid going in the 2nd half of August and into September!
