Captain Irv Grisbeck passed away peacefully at his home on November 6, 2016 in Bullhead City, AZ. Irv was born to Russell William Grisbeck and Helen Dorothy Grisbeck on February 5, 1951 in Dallas, TX. Irv is survived by his wife, Marianne Grisbeck and son Russell Grisbeck; two sisters, Mary Helen Rogers and Louise Norris, and Brothers James Downing (deceased), William Downing (deceased), and several nieces and nephews. Capt. Irv Grisbeck was well known in the San Diego Sportfishing community. He owned and operated several boats, beginning with the original Sundown. Fishery managers have approved three days of razor clam digging beginning Nov. 17 at various ocean beaches. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the opening at Twin Harbors, Copalis and Mocrocks after marine toxin tests confirmed the clams on those beaches are safe to eat. Dan Ayres, WDFW coastal shellfish manager, said the best digging typically occurs one to two hours before low tide. No digging is allowed at any beach before noon. “Diggers will find plenty of nice razor clams just waiting for the frying pan or to use as an addition to their Thanksgiving feast,”…
