Black Devilfish Video Check out this pretty cool video of the deep-water black devilfish recorded on a deep-dive submersible exploration by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.  This was reported to be the first ever recorded live black devilfish alive and at a depth of 1800-feet.  They have a lure on a rod that they light up and wave in front of their fang-studded mouth to entice prey to their death. Crazy Creature From the Deep Check this video out of another, never-heard-of crazy creature from the deep.  ROV explorers captured video of this swimming colony of creatures. A siphonophore is a colony of individual creatures that work together as if the colony was a living creature.  Each takes the form of a necessary part for the good of the colony.  Some develop forms for locomotion while others handle defense and feeding.  This deep-water form is crazy looking, but then so it the Man-O-War jellyfish that we are used to seeing.  It is a colony too.
