Another outstanding trip to PNG that was rewarded with great memories and unstoppable fish. I hope we all live long enough to tell the tales of it to our kids. 9 anglers came in from different parts of the world to experience the remoteness and the fishing that PNG has to offer. Thanks to all the guys from the K20 for an outstanding service and operation!! We flew to Misima island where the K20 was waiting to sail to the Pocklington Ridge. 18 hours of steaming under heavy seas but luckily enough the sea was subdued and settled down upon…

Dealing with a closed airport and diverted flights, not to mention the 2-day delay to arrive to New Caledonia with no luggage… That is how I recall the nightmare we went through to make it to New Caledonia. But even while enduring such travel issues, we did not stop thinking about the potential of our trip knowing that we were going to fish a totally new spot. We were thinking big and dreaming of new adventure. I had John from Boston and Andy and Alex from Jersey that joined me on this trip. John flew from Boston and had a…

Check out this great video demonstrating a simple, yet super strong connection to make to lures and jigs when your laying it all on the line. You can see more at Saltywater Tackle’s website or follow them on Facebook and…
Madagascar Fishing Report At the dock, it all started as an overcast weather and within a matter of hours it changed into pouring heavy rain and high seas. That is what I recall the first half journey of our trip to the East Coast of Diego Suarez Madagascar. At certain time the rain was coming down so heavy that I turned to the guys and told them that there is no way on earth to open the Pelican water proof camera case and get the camera to take a shot. I knew if I do that the case will be…
In January of 2017 Sami Ghandour of Saltywater Tackle traveled to Madagascar to pop and jig for species such as giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, groupers, coral trout, wahoo and more. Sami was joined by Dorian, Andy and Alex. The crew fished with Captain Nicholas. Despite some rough weather the guys landed some solid fish, including a huge giant trevally caught by Andy on his Race Point 250. Check out more from Saltywater Tackle on BD.
I had the joy to encounter one of the best, epic airborne shows and hook ups on the lighter gear. This was absolutely a banner day to be remembered in my life as long as I would live. Orkatz (Amegari lure) from Spain, Boyang from China, Jim Kuhl from New Jersey, Joe Higgins from New Hampshire, Captain Eric Kulin from Massachusetts and yours truly from Saltywater Tackle. We set pace to fish out of Oregon Inlet targeting the almighty giant bluefin tuna and we did not get disappointed nor we did come out empty handed. On our first day and…
